Milan – A derby (behind closed doors) that was never played, but was nevertheless "poisoned" by the height of the goals (too high), the "lasers" used to check the actual height, and above all by alleged "private visits" on the pitch on the eve of the match. Thus, Brusaporto-Villa Valle , a matchday three match in the Serie D championship (Group B), not only didn't even start last Saturday at the Casazza stadium following a complaint from the visitors , but it also brought with it a trail of controversy following the social media spat between the two clubs , with accusations from one side and threats of legal action from the other. Even before the sports judge's decision.
ASD Calcio Brusaporto wishes to provide clarification regarding the cancellation of the match, according to the statement. Due to the unavailability of our Brusaporto stadium, the club took steps to ensure the match could be played as scheduled, identifying the Casazza sports field as an alternative venue, a facility approved up to the Eccellenza championship. In accordance with regulations, an exemption authorization was requested and obtained to host the match behind closed doors. Upon arrival at the stadium , Villa Valle officials took measurements of the goals using laser equipment they had brought with them. Also on Saturday, it emerged that a Villa Valle official had visited the stadium in the previous few days to carry out a private inspection, without officially informing our club or the federal authorities.
The measurement revealed a discrepancy in the heights of the two goals : one was approximately 6 cm higher, the other approximately 3 cm higher than the regulation standards. Villa Valle therefore submitted a written reservation to the match director, who verified the situation and granted our club 45 minutes, as per the rules, to attempt to restore the correct measurements. Despite timely and repeated attempts by our staff, it was not possible to correct the problem . The referee therefore declared the match inadmissible. However, we wish to reiterate our good faith and utmost correctness in handling the matter and express our concerns about the manner and timing in which the guests raised the technical issue, especially in light of the private visit to the facility carried out in the previous days.
The opposing party responded with a very harsh response: "The Villa Valle management expresses its deep concern and disapproval regarding the recent statements made by the Brusaporto management, which, in our opinion, are insulting and slanderous towards our manager. We firmly dispute the accusations regarding the alleged verification of goal measurements during the week. These statements appear deliberate and intended to damage our reputation and that of our representatives. We have instructed our lawyer to evaluate appropriate legal action to protect our good name and the integrity of our managers. For the rest, we rely on the sporting justice system to evaluate and resolve the issues relating to the conduct of the parties involved."
